I've been gone from you for a while... a long while. We've gone through a global pandemic and come out on the other side, I purchased my first home and moved my daughters to a new school district, welcomed my nephew into the world, lost my grandmother in the physical world, met the love of my life and decided to homeschool my daughters starting in September.
Life has been a crazy ride since I left you in 2019. Now I'm back with renewed intention - I hope my words and experiences help someone, but I really hope getting my thoughts and feelings out helps me. I hope sharing with you helps me work through how to process what I'm feeling and stay present in my life. I hope being accountable to you helps me finish writing my book, and more than anything I hope sharing my stories helps the people who love me most understand me when I have trouble finding my voice. To start things off, this past week I made a decision to start making progress again on my health goals. I made an appointment with a therapist, connected to a coach through a resource I receive as part of my medical insurance, and scheduled an appointment with a nutritionist. I also confirmed an accountability partner for morning workouts and set realistic goals to keep myself on track. Before that, my daughters and I got library cards and began our journey to becoming "library kids" and "library grownups" (Mychal The Librarian, we love you!). I started reading about homeschooling, my girls are working to want to read before watching tv or being on their phones and we all want to get more involved in the free programs at the library each month. Overall recently, we've been working through our grief and trying to make daily decisions that get us closer to our goals of making healthier lifestyle choices, having less stress, and improving our mental and emotional health. It's hard work, but I'm excited to feel better every day and reach my goals so I can set new ones. Thanks for jumping back in with me. Let's do this together.
